About Marcelo Cavalcanti

I’ve been studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over nineteen years. I was awarded my “Black Belt” under Professor Rigan Machado and for the last twelve years I’ve been teaching and competing in the U.S.A. and Brazil. The last twelve years I started a team of students at MC Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in the South bay Area of Carson, CA U.S.A. I have won numerous titles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments like the Pan-Americans, National and International tournaments, and World Championships. I’ve been improving and continuously training with Professor Mauricio Tinguinha, who has been coaching me. The secret to my success has been my students. I have been fortunate to assemble a team of the finest, most respectful in the area. I have trained my students to become champions in the most well renowned tournaments such as Grappler’s Quest, Worlds, and the Gracie Tournaments. I also have much experience teaching children of all ages and also serving the community with the Braille Institute. My students have learned to love Jiu-Jitsu with as much passion as I do. Growing as a person means sharing what I have learned and what I have to offer, reaching out to the community and offering seminars to other academies. My goal is to bring my knowledge, drive, and my craft out to the community to share the wonderful art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to build self-confidence, self-discipline, respect, and learn practical self-defense for any man, woman, or child.
