First of all, we would like to thank Professor Luis “Limao” Heredia for extending his kind hospitality to allow the privilege of Professor Marcelo Cavalcanti to teach a class at Maui Jiu-Jitsu in Hawaii. We like to thank Maui Jiu-Jitsu for opening their doors allowing MCBJJ Academy to help reach out to other schools. We hope that Maui Jiu-Jitsu had a great time learning and training with Marcelo.  We hope to see you again in the near future!

New Seminars at MCBJJ -Visalia!

We here at MCBJJ Academy in Carson are proud to announce a new seminar coming up in the city of Visalia!!! This event will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010. This seminar includes the world famous instruction from Professor Marcelo Cavalcanti teaching some of the most foundational techniques from the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Here are some details:

New Official MCBJJ Branch Open!!!

MCBJJ Academy is proud to announce the grand opening of MCBJJ’s new branch in Visalia California! MCBJJ Visalia will be opening on August 18, 2010 under Professor Marcelo Cavalcanti along with his two students  and certified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructors Mark and Kayti Quesada.

Mark and Kayti both have been studying martial arts for the past 25 years educating and teaching the community about the benefits of martial arts through self defense, and maintaining a healthy and productive lifestyles. Mark Quesada, Purple Belt, has been reaching out extensively to the community by teaching self-defense and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques to Law Enforcement.

Kayti Quessada, Purple Belt also has been committed to the life of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She has been educating women on the skills to defend, empower, and commit them to a healthy lifestyle. Not only is she a qualified teacher but an excellent competitor in BJJ competitions including:

We here here at MCBJJ Academy would like to give our extreme congratulations for our Kids Competition Team for all their loyalty and hard work in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Community! Last week our team did extremely well in the 2010 South Bay Open BJJ tournament held July 23 and 24. The next week they also competed in the 3rd World International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships. South Bay Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships

We here at MCBJJ are very proud with our Competition Team who recently participated in the 2010 South Bay Open. All of our students fought real hard with all their heart!

All of our Kids are on a roll! They all placed in their respective divisions all earning distinctive recognition in the Jiu-Jitsu community! We are very proud of you guys!

-Congratulations for Max and Josh who both fought 5 matches and won 3! They both trained and fought with physical and mental toughness which earned them the spot of 4th place.

-Also congratulations to Jerry who also participated! This was his first tournament and was a great experience for him!

New Class for Women!!!

The Woman’s Self-Defense Fitness Program

The Woman’s  Self Defense Fitness Program is a program that is aimed to provide the ultimate solution against attackers, sexual offenders, and rapists through the art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. The techniques in this program are designed to help any woman escape from her attacker, whether she is on her feet or on the ground

Not only will the program provide the ultimate self-defense for women but also the training to become healthy physically, psychologically, and emotionally. The program will provide great physical training in becoming more physically fit.

Schedule Changes for the Adult Class!

It is with great pleasure to announce that MCJJ Academy will undergo minor schedule changes for the Adults effective June 3, 2010. To accommodate our students we will be offering more classes to help improve our students here at MCBJJ Academy.

For our current Adult students, you do not need to worry about changing your schedule to come to MCBJJ Academy at a different time. For example, if you are a current student going to the Adult Class at 7:00pm on Mon/Tues/Thurs, then you can still go train at that same time.

One of our biggest schedule change involves the addition of classes on Wednesdays. There is now a BJJ All Levels Class at Wednesday nights!

Kids Pan-Ams Tournament

It was a incredible day of great competition during 2010 Pan-Ams as our Kids division brought home 3 Gold and 1 Bronze for the MCBJJ School! Congratulations to Jaeboy Alofaituli, Christian Luu, Jonathan Tanap for winning Gold, and Isaac Hernandez bringing home the Bronze! These guys have shown that hard work with great training by Professor Marcelo Cavalcanti pays off!

We now have pictures of Esteban De la Cruz at his silver medal performance at Jiu Jitsu World Championships in 2008 up. A belated congratulations to Esteban for that achievement.

Congratulations are in order for Kayti Quesada for winning her division at the 2009 Pan-Americans. She can now add that trophy to the one she has from the 2007 world championships.
